Colortec® MAX is a Sealer used for the protection of decorative/architectural/aesthetical concrete used for walls and floors, indoors and outdoors. Suitable for concrete, terrazzo and certain natural stones with a processed surface finish, e.g. by exposed aggregate, acid-etching, shot– or sandblasting, grinding … surfaces usually used for architectural precast concrete, decorative concrete paving, terrazzo, steps, pavers, artificial stone … and surfaces
which require protection against soiling, efflorescence, loss of colour, weathering, frost etc.

It is particularly suited to our Jesmonite AC100, where it will provide prolonged external surface durability, whilst retaining the key attribute of flexibility that is sympathetic to the natural thermal and moisture movement of Jesmonite.

Instructions for use:

Usual precautions and actions when handling chemicals should be observed (e.g. no eating, drinking, or smoking at theplace of work). Additional instructions, which can be found on the corresponding product labelling or in the Safety Data Sheet, must be observed.

The surfaces to be protected may be moist (no standing water) or dry. The surface should be mineral, clean, dust-free,absorbent and frost-free. Surfaces which have been produced or installed some while ago, need to be cleaned thoroughly beforehand, if necessary by using a cleaning agent such as Colortec® MAX should be applied in a one-coat application with a suitable roller, brush or spray-gun. COLORTEC® MAX is applicable for horizontal and vertical surfaces.

When applying to vertical surfaces we recommend to work from the bottom to the top in a zigzag movement. Apply generously and evenly.The treated surfaces should be protected against rain and frost during the drying time (approx. 24 hours). Colortec® MAX should not be applied by temperatures below +5°C.

By the application of Colortec® MAX in standard production lines of prefabricated concrete, for example terrazzo tiles and similar, and directly “in-line”, meaning immediately prior to packaging, it should be ensured that the surfaces to be treated are suitable and free of processing residue.

The durability of the Colortec®MAX coating depends on a large number of parameters (concretemix design and surface, application,weather etc.) but usually lies between 2 and 10 years. If a fading ofthe protective effect is noticed, we recommend the cleaning and subsequent re-coating of the surface with Colortec® MAX.
